Minttu in X-ray examination - six puppies visible

Today, Monday the 17th of February 2014, is Minttu's 58th pregnancy day. We payed a visit to the local veterinarian clinic, for a pregnancy X-ray examination. Six puppies were seen, all with good sizes, according to the statement of the vet, Katja Kyröläinen.

The theoretical delivery day of the expected Vongoivan J-litter, according to 63 pregnancy days, would be Saturday, the 22nd of February. This is going to be an interesting week. Luckily Leila, the very experienced breeder (Kennel Hermans, http://www.easynetti.com/company_3.jsp?id=1546) has promised to help me again.

In the first half of Minttu's pregnancy I felt that she was so astonished with the physical changes in her body, and of course, the stop of active training and competing in agility. Well, there will be time for agility again.

Now with her big belly, Minttu likes to rest lying on her side, or on her back. She has such a lovely temperament  -  just a look from me to her causes a wild and happy tail wagging. She walks still very eagerly, but of course we now make shorter walks. In spite of her present heavy condition, the sighting of an urbanised hare clearly accelerates Minttu's heart beat rate... 
I was happy to be able to lend again the same big and very functional puppy nursing box from Eija, the breeder of Yönhaltijain chow-chows (http://personal.inet.fi/koti/eija.pyokari/index.htm) where also the Vongoivan D- and the Vongoivan I-litters were born and nursed by Stella. Apparently Minttu doesn't have so early memories of the same box?

Minttu's abdominal hair has vanished nearly totally, leaving a free access for the puppies to the "Milk Bar". Eija was most kind to lend Minttu also a very well designed and functional maternity mantel, which shields also the nipples, keeping them warm and clean.
